Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Incident reported in amazon.com customer review section of website. the review was filtered by amazon.com customer service on 8/6/2003, then it was sent to amazon.com product compliance (product safety) for documentation and customer contact on 8/26/2003. the name, address, and info of customer is not given due to customer did not release info for amazon.com to do so. the product has been identified: product brand name/manufacturer: graco accel overhead convertible car seat with latch jeti; product upc: 039123046008; tru skn: 602534; amazon asin: b00006906c. on 8/12/2003, customer noted review summary: "it breaks!!!", comments: "i received this car seat as a gift and it was, at first, heaven-sent. my 7 month old daughter was very happy and comfortable. about a month after using it, i went to put her in the seat and the left side of the overhead bar came out of its' socket completely. as in another review, i found a spring had come loose. luckily i was given a gift receipt and exchanged it for another. again, one month later, the same side is loose and clicks. i returned it and bought the graco comfort sport. the manager of the toys r us told us upon returning it that the overhead bar car seats were soon to be banned for safety reasons. in any event, my baby loved the comfort sport as soon as she was in it. it frees her hands to hold her books and play with her toys, which she could not do freely in this seat." end. *nlm |
