Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Although the dash says "apply brake to shift from park", my 3 year old son was able to shift out of park causing the vehicle to start rolling backward down a hill. what i discovered was that he had turned the key halfway between the off position and the accessory position and in this intermediate position the vehicle freely shifts out of park without pressing the brake at all. i contacted the dealer and he indicated it is the brake shift lockout switch that controls that safety feature. clearly if my 3 year old son can get around that safety feature, it is not a safety feature at all. *ak |
