Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: While in operation, for no reason, engine stopped running, loosing steering and braking. took to private auto repair shop and they could not find anything wrong. took to the dealer and they cannot do anything unless it happens again and i have it towed in. i called gmc and they cannot do anything unless it happens again and i have it towed to the dealer. it is too dangerious to drive with this problem. this has happened twice to my brother in-laws 1999 chevy suburban and both times it was taken to the dealer. they replaced the altenator the first time and the battery the second time. looking at the other complaints on this web site it looks like many other people have had this problem. gmc should be telling their dealers how to fix this problem.
