Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: The following is the text of the letter i sent to graco, the manufacturer: i am writing to you to relate the experience we have had with two graco quest high back booster seats. on both seats, the clip that retains the shoulder strap has torn away from the seat cover. i noticed that there was a piece of material sewn under the cover so i gently pulled the clip to determine how much strength was left in the attachment. to my horror it came off in my hand. i would guess that the purpose of this clip, if not the entire booster seat is to position the shoulder strap correctly on the child's body. i cannot envision that a clip that could be removed with such little force would be at all effective during a crash. i have destroyed the seats and sent them to the incinerator so that they would not be used. please note that these seats were the fourth in a series of car seats that we have purchased for our twins, and had seen less than a year of use. since we have seats for three cars, their usage during that time was not excessive. in fact, there were no signs of wear other than the clips pulling out from the material. i believe that this product should be investigated, and if they all have the same type of quality and/or construction, i would suspect that their ability to protect a child during a crash is minimal. *la
