Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I run a car dealership and i want to file a complaint about the two cables on chevrolet full size pickups that secure the tailgate on 99-02 models. i have seen hundreds of these trucks where the cables have failed and broke. there is no way that those cables are strong enough to keep from breaking with a little added weight such as a child or an adult. they are as dangerous of a design as i have ever seen. plus, i am tired of paying for these cables on every truck that comes in to my lot for resale. they are way to expensive to replace. a cable that should cost $4 or $5 cost over $30. gm is getting rich on the replacement parts of these cables and they know it. something needs to be done about this and if you investigate this matter i am 100% sure you will agree too.*ak
