Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: On 11-18-03, i contacted cosco in reference to a defect on my child's car seat. the springs that secure the arms of the shield to the car seat keep detaching. while i was speaking with the representative, she took my home phone number and pulled me up in their system. i have already complained to them once before, but i do not have a specific date, regarding this matter. their first response was to send me a set of replacement springs. they do not work. i feel that my child's safety is at risk at this point. i have put the springs back in several times but they keep coming out and since that is a major point of attachment it really concerns me that it may fail in a crash. the response i got from cosco today was that they would send me some more springs. i told them that i already replaced them once before. they told me these would fix the problem, as they did before. i told them that i would probably just have to buy another car seat and she said she would send me a replacement shield. i told her that there was nothing wrong with the shield or the springs but that it was a manufacturer's defect apparently. this has been ongoing for sometime now but it came to my attention again the date i have listed when i was removing the car seat from my vehicle. my sister in law had the same car seat as i have but i noticed that she had changed to a different one. she said the springs in hers were coming out too. on this date, i called my local ems office which has a paramedic that inspects car seats and is involved deeply with car seat safety. she told me that she has been informed of several problems with this particular car seat's shield attachment. she is the one that referred me to your website. i do not want my child or any other child hurt because of this problem. it is unsafe. the time that it takes to mail the springs along with the springs popping out unexpectedly really pose a danger to the children who depend on these seats for safety. *la
