| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2000 honda odyssey lx manual sliding doors "sticking" problem solution: a) after attempting to open the sliding door, and it only "pops open" slightly and sticks; b) from inside the vehicle, push outward on the upper corner (of the sliding door) which is closest to the rear of the vehicle. it should push outward easily, and the door should slide open freely. c) apply lubricant to the upper rear corner of the weather stripping rubber: try silicon grease, or silicon spray lubricant, or graphite powder, or talcum powder. problem solved. no more sticking when re-opening the previously stuck door. its probably the physics of the pressure of the door against the rubber creating sufficient friction to prevent the door from "popping" completely away from the rubber weather stripping and thus preventing the door from sliding open. *la |
