Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: The transmission output shaft in the 1992 3000gt vr4 is defective and mitsubishi is aware of this problem and refuses to acknowledge it or correct it.there is currently a recall(02v143001) on the transfer case on this vehicle and although this shaft ties into the transfer case it is not included in the recall.if this shaft is to fail while driving serious injury could occur due to loss of drive.mitsubishi/getrag does not allow or support the replacement of this shaft so a consumer must purchase a $5000 transmission.this problem has been reported on this site numerous times as well as to mitsubishi themselves. something needs to be done about this.at the time i am writing this there is another 3000gt being worked on at the dealer with the same problem!!!*ak
