Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: For many years i have been baffeld with a clunking noise in the front end of my car. i have replaced the entire front. these are the parts i have replaced both lower control arms, both iner and outer tierods, both upper strut mounts/struts, stabilizer bar links, both driveshafts, both font wheel bearings. upon closer inspection as a last resort looked at the rack and pinion unit and discovered that the crossmember that the rack and pinion unit is mounted to is moving when i turn the steering wheel to the left and the right. it's my greatast fear that the crossmember that the rack and pinion is mounted to will break away from the body of the car, resulting in a loss of steering causing a potential accident or worse a loss of life. the crossmember is the foundation point or platform where the rack and pinion is mounted to. this crossmember should be a reliable and safe mounting point for the life of the car. *ak |
