Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Problems with vehicle cutting off.*mr the consumer stated when he purchased the vehicle, it died twice as it was being moved on the lot. it was explained as carbon build-up and the fact that the vehicle had been on a truck for a week from another dealer. the motor was pinging and a mechanic stated it was a well known problem with that particular motor, apparently due to a design defect, the outer cylinders did not cool efficiently which resulted in a scorching of the cylinders, rings and pistons, which was the source of the pinging. the consumer dropped the vehicle off at the dealer and after tearing down the motor, it was determined the motor was in need of replacement. the consumer was informed there was a national back order for that particular motor. *cb *jb
