Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I purchased the evenflo on my way 5-point harness infant car seat in july of 2001. by september 2001, the clip that holds the strap to the car seat broke off the car seat (this was not due to a car accident or any extreme force). i was tightening my daughter in the seat and it just broke off the car seat. i called evenflo and informed them of the problem. they took the information and said to stop using the seat. i subsequently bought another car seat for my daughter immediately. in december 2001 i received a new strap and attachment from evenflo for the car seat and was told this would rectify the problem. i repaired the strap and attachment but since my daughter was no longer an infant by this time, i didn't use the seat for her. i gave birth to a son in may of 2003. i used the evenflo infant seat for him for 3 months when the exact same part broke off the car seat just by strapping him in again. i was informed by evenflo that the seat should still be safe. i advised them that i did not feel it was safe since i could no longer tighten the strap securing my child in the car seat. they had no further comment after i informed them of the tightening issue with the strap. i have since stopped using the seat again. this car seat was used for a total of 5 months and broke twice. this product flaw appears to me as a safety issue that should be reported to you and rectified by evenflo. *la
