Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: My vehicle needed to have the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets, egr, plugs, new coolant, oil & filter replaced. dealer said egr burnt through "plastic" and this is how i got leaks. car smelled like it was burning. at first car would continually stall, even when driving. then it started blowing out white smoke and then would not start at all. i am furious over this. my car is out of the 3 years warranty. it has 52,000 miles and has been very well taken care of. contacted gm only to be told they would not offer any cost assistance because i don't have records of doing my own oil changes. if i were to have taken the car for every oil change at the dealer where there would be a record, they might have considered offering help. my car has always had oil changes every 3,000 miles. there is an online petition right now with over 2,200 signatures for the problem with the intake manifold gasket leaks. gm is well aware of this problem and they are turning their backs on us consumers. if there wasn't a problem with the gaskets, then why have them come out with an upgraded gasket part? i would love to send you my service history along with the letter i wrote to gm regarding this problem.
