Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I have a dual fuel tank system. the rear tank is pumping gas into the forward tank. the forward tank is overflowing past the filler cap and spilling to the ground. these symptoms are indentical to the 1993 f-series fuel systems problems nhtsa id # 00v-424, mfg campaign # 00s57. i just went to the local ford dealer. they looked up my vin and said that my vehicle is not listed under this recall. the dealer is more than willing to help. i was told that the service technician would first have to troubleshoot the cause and find out if the failure is due to the same part being defective as the recall items. then i would have to battle ford to pay for the fix. i was told that they sometimes have trouble getting ford to pay for repairs if the vehicle is not listed on the recall, even if it is the same part malfunctioning. i am going to begin repairing the vehicle soon and would appreciate any help you can give me. having seen that these same symptoms have appeared on earlier models i have come to the conclusion that this is not an isolated incident and suspect that other same year vehicles as my may develop this problem. |
