Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Problems with engine surging and stalling. *mr the vehicle experienced vapor lock. the fuel in the fuel lines to the engine vaporized due to high temperatures. this caused the vehicle to stall and or surge. mercedes claimed that the fuel in minnesota was the cause of this condition. the vehicle would suddenly die, intermittently restart and stall again. accidents had almost been caused by this problem. the dealer could not determine the problem. the check engine light had illuminated. another service dealer found a code for misfire but could not identify. the stepper motor linkage had broken. *sc *jb
