| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Had a defective firestone steeltex blow out on a rear passenger side 1999 ford pickup while towing a boat. the tires were very low mileage and had the proper amount of inflation. the entire sidewall of the tire disentegrated. the tire has been sent to firestone , akron facility for a review by experts to try and determine the reason for the failure. the blowout was very violent causing body damage to the wheel well of the truck. it is fortunate that the failure occurred on the rear of the truck as a failure on the front could have caused loss of control of the vehicle. the tires were immediately removed from the vehicle and i still have them minus the actual blowout which was sent to the firestone facility as indicated above. *ak |
