Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: When attempting to crank the vehicle the engine back fired and smoke billowed from under the hood of the vehicle. *nm the dealer informed the consumer that the fuel pump was replaced, because when they attempted to start the vehicle it back fired and blew up the manifold, however on july 9, 2004 the consumer received a recall notice regarding the fuel pressure regulator which describe in detail in which the consumer stated sounded just like the problem he experienced. the consumer submitted a claim for reimbursement, but was denied. the manufacturer stated the part on his vehicle that was replaced was not the part that was recalled. *jb
