Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I bought a 2000 monte carlo ss new in sept of 2000, i have 60,000 miles on it. the 4th gear is out of it and i have to have a new transmission put in it which is going to cost me between 1,300.00-1,600.00 to replace and they have to add a add on kit, if they have to add a add on kit what is the problem? i am very disappointed with chevy products. i also have a 89 chevy truck, which i bought used with 50,000 miles and i have had to put a new transmission in it 2 yrs ago, my daughter has a 99 monte carlo and has numerous problems in the last 2 yrs. i owned a 79 chevy truck for 16 yrs which i bought new and never had any problems with it except for normal wear and tear on it. what has happened with the quality of chevrolets? i am very disappointed. i should not be putting in a transmission in a 4 1/2 yr old car. i have taken very good care of the car changing oil,etc when it is due. you pay good money and it doesn't even last till you pay it off. *ak |
