($232.88). 1. october 21, check engine light on. vehicle dies out after starting in morning unless you keep your foot on the gas. 2. they performed diagnois replaced iac valve. ($236.69) 1.january 11, 05 check engine light on. vehicle dies out again. 2. they perform diagnois, codes p0171 &p0174. replaced intake gaskets and valve cover, isolator bolts and reprogram pcm. 3. because this was our third time in for the same problem they put in a new alternator and did not charge us for this. but we once again paid to fix the problem of the car dieing out. ($558.50) did we need a new alternator? my ford winstar is a 1999. today (jan. 30, 05) my odometer has 33,000 miles on it. would an alternator not last more thatn 32,000 miles? there is a technical service bulletin on the p0171 &p0174 problem which it took them 3 times to figure out. it is covered under the bumper to bumper warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles. my question is when did this bulletin come out? the one i have is august 18, 2003. which at that point my 3 year warranty would have expired.*ak
