Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Purchased a lincoln navigator in september 2004. once the weather changed and it got colder every night for about a week the horn would start beeping consistently and could not be stopped unless we disconnected the horn. we took the vehicle to ford and they explained that although there had not been a recall, the dealership was familiar with the problem. however, we would have to pay for the repairs as they did not consider it a safety issue and it was not covered under the warranty we had purchased with the suv. i believe that this is a safety issue because the only way we could get it to stop was to disconnect the horn. the ford dealership told us that when the weather got cold, the leather around the horn would contract causing the metal plates to connect and activate the horn. i would appreciate it if you could investigate this matter. *jb |
