Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: After 17,500 miles,i heard scraping noises from the rear wheel that would eventually disappear when riding the bike from a cold start. noticed slight wiggle when leaning into turns at 60 mph. i placed the bike on a lift and was able to move the rear tire side to side with my hands. i eventually took the bike to my dealer to have the rear rim checked out. i was told that not only did the rear bearing fail on drive side, but it galled out the aluminum face inside the rim rendering it useless. as a result, no bearings could be installed unless a new rim was purchased. a new rim was purchased on 11/14/04. the original rim was disposed of by the dealer at my request. *ak |
