| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: While driving on the interstate at 70 mph, the car suddenly died. luckily we were going down a hill and no other cars nearby, so we coasted to the shoulder. car would not crank - it was completely dead. it was towed to dealership. they said a fuse was blown which caused the problem. they did not know why the fuse was blown. they gave us several extra fuses in case it happened again. we were on our way home from vacation, so we took the extra fuses and finished the trip home. a couple days later the car would not crank. we took it to the local dealer, who found that the fuel pump was causing the fuse to blow. we had to pay over $800 to replace the fuel pump. we are hoping that gm will re-imburse us, since this sounds similar to the recall. they say that even though we've had to pay for the problem, we cannot file any paperwork until november. so it'll be at least until then before we get any money back, if at all. in the meantime, it sounds like the new fuel pump is susceptible to the same problem. |
