| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The car was purchased used from yankee ford,so.portland. with 60,000 miles on it. after a few days, the car seemed to idle high. yankee ford diagnostic could find nothing wrong. in 2004 fall, i took it in because it was running hot, the engine sounded rough. the oil changes were up to date. the oil was clean when the mechanic looked at it. he did a diagnostic check. then he looked in the engine. it was very dirty. when the machine shop cleaned it, the mechanics said they never saw anything like it, it was caked with sludge. the car has been sitting in the shop while the mechanic has looked for a new used engine. the cost is very, very high and i still owe $7,000 on the car. it had less than 80,000 miles on it when i took it in. *jb |
