Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Air bag light stays on for no apparent reason in my 1999 jeep grand cherokee laredo (4.0 liter, 6 cyl.) i understand a recall was issued for the exact same problem for the '97-99 jeep cherokee which stated: air bag could deploy unexpectedly and injure driver. alternatively, air bag warning light could come on for no apparent reason. models: 391,623 sport-utility vehicles made 7/96-6/99. what to do: have dealer replace air-bag control module, positioning it on top of transmission tunnel. *jb
