Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: One and 1/2 years ago on february 13, 2004, the abs system sounded an alarm, and i removed the 60 amp fuse that controls the abs system. when i returned home, i made contact with ressler's chevrolet of mandan, nd, and they indicated to me it was the control module, and it would cost over $800 to repair. i still had brakes, and they continue to work to this day. the abs system remains off although my brake light and abs light are both on. at this cost i was not about to repair such a costly item on my own. i feel there should be a recall on this item, because it is a mandated safety product. at this time i have over 124k miles on my 99 silverado. i am aware of a recall on a wheel sensor corrosion problem on this type of vehicle, but that it would not apply to a vehicle in north dakota. to me this makes absolutely no sense, because i do travel out of the state, and there is a lot of salt used the streets of bismarck nd. *nm |
