Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Dt: 2005 toyota camry. the vehicle has a very pronounced vibration on the engine which is transmitted to the steering wheel. there has been a technician to inspect the vehicle. he stated he would speak to the factory about it. the contact has never heard back from toyota of puerto rico. the contact did call toyota of north america told him to get in contact with toyota of puerto rico. the vibration happens when the motor is hot; it has to go down to the minimum rpms, 750. when the vehicle is in drive and hot, he states he can feel the vibration. at 900 rpms, the vehicle does not shake. he then asked if they could adjust the rpms, but the dealership stated they could not reprogram the computer. the consumer stated there was a device toyota has installed in the six cylinder camry's to reduce vibration. this is called the active engine control mount.*ak updated 11/15/2005 - the vibration was also noticed when the vehicle was in reverse or when the a/c was on. the vehicle has been inspected a total of five times. *nm (11/29/05) *sc |
