| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Chevrolet has recalled 1999 tahoes for abs sensor failure due to corrosion. i didn't receive a recall notice, so i called chev. at 1-800-630-2438. their representative told me that my vehicle's identification number did not fall within the "breakpoint", so my vehicle isn't covered in the recall, despite the fact that i had to have the abs sensors replaced in nov, 2004 at a cost of $741. the rep. couldn't explain why my vehicle didn't fall within the so-called "breakpoint". my vehicle's ident. # is [xxx]. the vehicle has always been used in maine, which is one of the "salt belt" states. *jb updated 07/17/2012 *js information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) |
