Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Dt*: the contact stated on 7/2004 the vehicle was taken to the service dealer because of a sensor detecting cam shaft position fell off the engine block damaging the cams and chain requiring new short block and a nut was detached from the sensor. the sensor fell into the camshaft and destroyed the engine. a recall letter # 04v35700 was received which required the dealer to install a fuse in line with the sensor. when the manufacturer was contacted for reimbursement, the request was denied because the manufacturer determined the original repair was not due the sensor but may have been related to the timing chain. 08/29/06 in may of 2006, a recall letter was received from daewoo claiming a possible failure of the sensor would cause a fire and/or damage to the engine. the same sensor destroyed contact's engine that daewoo would not stand behind on. *tt
