| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: March,2004 shut off truck and heard sound (like a small electric motor running) coming from under truck. unplugged electrical connection to avoid running battery down. called my mechanic and he knew right away what was wrong, he said he has seen quite a few of the 1999 pickups with the same condition. as a friend he looked at it no charge. said it would be around $650.00 to fix. called chevy dealer and they told me gm would pay half. i laughed and said that's not good enough. they also wanted $79.00 diagnostic fee. what a joke. i wrote a letter to gm they did not respond. i called on the phone and got all the way to the secretary of the chevrolet division and she would not put me through to him. i'm now driving with standard brakes but my child drive my truck from time to time and feel like i'm not providing him with a safe vehicle and i dont have the money to fix it. *nm |
