Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I am using this forum to call attention to major safety hazard conditions involving design, engineering and structural failures of the 2002 monaco/mckenzie rogue class c motorhome, purchased new in 2002 in parker, az. the vehicle was built in oregon. the safety related issues involve multiple occurrences of defects in workmanship and materials, including burned interior light switches; a 22 gallon propane tank fell off vehicle while in motion; factory installed tv set broke loose from original mountings at 65 mph, hitting the driver and crashing to the coach floor. but the major concern is repeated structural failure of the vehicle's exterior side walls and roof to cab mountings causing wind water and dust intrusion. monaco has attempted to repair the vehicle on three previous occasions. the vehicle now has an undetected water leak in the immediate area of the previous repairs that has resulted in evidence of black mold growing between the inner and outer roof and side walls and resulting in ruined interior panels, bedding and window treatments. to my knowledge, none of the problems i have experienced, although documented by monaco, have been formally reported to unsuspecting, like-vehicle owners through monaco contact nor through voluntary recall. owners of mckenzie rogue and holiday rambler admiral class c motorhomes should be made aware of these life threatening conditions and monaco should immediately recall all units built since 2002 for inspection and no cost repair or vehicle replacement/buy back. my vehicle is beyond repair and i am formally requesting monaco to buy back my coach at full purchase price. *jb |
