| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: After paying for a technician to temporarily fix my locking steering column so i could get my corvette home, i obtained recall information over the internet that said the problem i had was to be fixed with a recall kit. after contacting mauher chevrolet in st. petersburg, fl., i was told that the recall had already been satisfied for my vehicle. the kit includes a plate and a relay bypass that disables the locking mechanism in the steering column. obviously, their info. is wrong because the wheel locks and sometimes stays locked when it's not supposed to. they say there is nothing they can do for me. i am not comfortable driving my vehicle in fear of it malfunctioning while i'm driving and the dealer will not perform the work as they should. my vin number is [xxx], 2000 corvette. please help. *jb updated 07/27/2012 *js information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) |
