Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Service engine soon (light) came on. dealer ran diagnostic and said "the engine computer software needs to be upgraded". this is a cost to me for $112. why should consumer have to pay for a software upgrade. this is a manufacturer defect. the manufacturer should have to incur the cost of repair. nothing is broken and nothing needs to be fixed. the software will get rid of the engine light and will allow the car owner to see any potential problems (i.e. what if the software is not upgraded and the engine light remains on. with the engine light on the driver will not be able to discern any problems that might happen, such as a leaky gas line which would be very serious). infiniti consumer affairs said there is no technical bulletin and no recall issued on this defect. |
