Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: My 2000 nissan xterra completely failed on me while driving 50 mph on a busy highway. the radio shut off, lights and then the engine cut off and i completely lost all power. i managed to pull off to the side of the road and was towed by triple a to the nissan dealer. they put a new battery in and after i repeatedly told them it was more than a battery they did a diagnostic test and insisted there was nothing else wrong. i told the mechanic i would break down again. sure enough one month later my husband and our three daughters had a similar experience, once again triple a towed me but, this time to my mechanic and he quickly diagnosed the fuel pump and sending unit. he advised me to have nissan put it in because i am still under warranty. we are very upset with nissan not recalling these parts. there have been many problems reported and they are doing anything about it. my husband was thinking about a nissan frontier but after the way nissan has ignored this problem and put my family in unnecessary danger he won't even consider it. we are through with nissan vehicles.*ak
