Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: To whom it may concern, almost exactly 2 years ago, just before the birth of our first child, we purchased an evenflo on my way position right v car seat (model # 4471027 p1, manufacturing date 22 aug 01 as part of a travel system including a stroller and spare base. on friday the 13th of february while tightening the right side shoulder strap of the infant carrier the with my 7 week old daughter in the seat, to my alarm the adjuster lever and its housing almost completely separated from the seat (please see attached photos). up until now we have been very happy with this product, but i feel that for a safety product such as this to fail in this way after 2 years is unacceptable. i feel it is important that you be notified of this defect in manufacture as soon as possible in the hopes of averting the possibility of an infant being injured due to this type of failure. we are now in the unfortunate position of having to replace not only the infant carrier, but also the entire travel system and spare infant carrier base, as i understand that your new products are entirely incompatible with our stroller and car seat bases. i am writing this today as your consumer resource center is closed on weekends, but i will be following this up with a phone call to your company as well as to the national highway traffic safety administration and the auto safety hotline. i would appreciate that you give this situation you earliest possible attention via e-mail or by phone. thank you, bill cink 342 pilgrim lane southington, ct 06489 (860) 628-0528 *ak
