Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: On january 9 2004 i received a recall letter from yamaha motor corporation, notifying me of a recall on my 2002 roadstar silverado vin#[xxx] because of transmission failure i was instructed by yamaha motor corp. not to ride the motorcycle it is unsafe and dangerous. they said to take it to my local dealer and the necessary repairs would be made to make it safe in a timely manner. i took it to the dealer and it is feb 21 2004 and my bike still is not fixed the dealer has not fixed any bikes of yet yamaha motor corp. has failed to provide parts as promised to solve the problem in a timely matter. i am still making a payment of $295.00 a month plus insurance and tags on a vehicle the manufacturer has deemed unsafe to ride. the dealer says he cant even give me an estimate when the work can be done because yamaha motor corp is not releasing any parts for the repairs. this is totally unacceptable from a consumers point of view. and need to be handled promptly. *jb *js information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) |
