Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: This complaint cover 2 occurrences, 1st aug. 19,2002 & the latest of march 3, 2004. my daughter was driving on the freeway both time with her mother, when all of a sudden the engine stalls, and would not restart. having towed it to the stewart dealership in colma, ca. it was found that the fuel pump had gone bad both times. the 1st occurrence at 32,090 miles, the 2nd at 66,442 miles. the dealership proceeded to tell me that the reason for the first failure, was that my daughter was driving too much with less than 1/2 tank of gas. the repair was made after a delay to get the part which was not in stock in california. now this afternoon i was informed that the reason the fuel pump went out again was because the fuel filter was completely plugged up. this car was bought new from the same dealership- 03/01/01- now just barely 3 years old it is having it's third fuel pump on it. the fact that is occurrence has happened not just once but twice while driving on a freeway (luckily during day light hours both times). *jb
