Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Product: britax roundabout convertible child safety seat restraint number: e900217 serial number: e9002171993 date of manufacture: november 9, 2000 batch number: 500598 while my 3 year old son was riding in the seat, the adjuster button on the car seat, which will release the harness if pressed, popped completely off during travel. the black plastic button had broken, releasing the tension on the spring inside. the black button actually flew across the inside of the vehicle. as a certified car seat technician since 1999, i knew to check the seat right away. without the button present, there was no way to lock the harness tightly in place. we ended our travel quick that day i purchased a replacement seat right away. i have contacted britax to notify them and to order a replacement part. the response from britax was that the warranty only lasts for one year after purchase, for any part. so, i will be paying about $8 for the part and shipping. (just a little annoying to me.) i have not seen any recalls regarding this item, and personally have not heard of any other complaints with the roundabout from other technicians. i'm worried that if i had not seen this part break, i may have continued traveling. had we been involved in a crash my son would have been completely thrown forward and seriously injured. please address this concern, as i would not want any other children to be put at risk when using this product. sincerely, kristin goffman certified technician instructor #i-0865 (909) 358-7179 riverside, ca. *ak
