Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I have a 2001 chrysler 300m with a crack along the left side of the passenger airbag. this is a very common problem on 300 miles and has been happening since the 1999 model. chrylser has done nothing to rectify the issue and will not even consider speaking to you about repairing it unless your car is under warrenty. repair shops will not fix it due to its proximity to the airbag and the only option is to have the dealer replace the entire dash which will cost $1200. not only is this a poor quality issue, but a safety issue as well as i have been told by the dealership that this could affect the way the airbag deploys -- if it will deploy at all. chrylser should be responsible for fixing this issue regardless of whether car is under warranty. mine is 3 months past warrenty and they refuse to even talk to me about the issue. they also deny knowing anything about the problem. i find this hard to believe since it has been happening since 1999. *ak
