Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I was driving a hyudai elentra rental car and i was stopped at a red light with the car in drive and my foot on the brake, and the brake was not holding the car back and the car was drifting forward a little into the intersection. i put the car into neutral and you could hear the engine revving very fast even though i did not have my foot on the gas pedal. i told the attendant when i returned the rental car that the brake wasn't holding the car back at a red light, but told her that i did not know what the problem was. she said that she would take the car out of service to be checked. the following week in the march 9 usa today there was an article reporting that some toyota camrys, camry solaras, and lexus es 300s surged forward with no reason. i believe that this is what occurred in the hyundai that i was driving. i have called avis to give them the car number that i was driving so that they can take the car in to be checked. i have listed the car below as a 2004 model. i believe that it was a 2004 because it was new and had low mileage. a question below asks whether it had cruise control, but i don't know. *jb |
