Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I am filing a complaint against uhaul and the unsafe vehicles that they are renting to consumers. these vehicles are a danger not only to those who are renting them but also to the general public that travel the highways where these vehicles are being operated. i reserved a truck on friday feb 27 in jackson ms and was shown a fairly new truck that was to be held for me. on saturday i was given an older truck that was supposed to have been serviced. i told them again i was a female driving alone to another state and was assured that the vehicle was in top shape. the rear lights and emergency flashers went out, the brakes pulled hard to the left, the speedometer did not work when going over 50 miles per hour, the truck surged and made noises, the power steering went out and left us broken down in the middle of the night in arkansas. (my son in law decided he was afraid to let me drive their equipment alone - thank goodness!) the 24 hour hotline did not work any better than the truck! i have recently filed a complaint with uhaul customer service...although the links on their website have not worked for weeks now. surely uhaul has a responsibility to provide equipment that is fit for use. *ak
