Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Airbag light constant illumination, along with horn/pwr. steering failure. this is the same defect that was recalled in earlier year models (plymouth grand voyager) through 1998, however mine is a 1999 and although exhibets same failure/defect, is not covered. this is reported to be a defect related to an "open circuit" clockspring. see also nhtsa action # rq04001, odi investigation ea01-007, safety recall # 02v-293, technical service bulletin # 0801102, and technical svce. bulletin #0801001, there has not yet been an accident or incident, however it is unacceptable that such a defect exists and that the manufacturer is aware of it, however will not do anything about it. this is clearly a major safety defect and is not the fault of the operator, nor is it a maintenance issue. |
