Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Regarding a britax marathon car seat. serial #e9lo6774840 manufactured on november 18,2003. after only 6 months of use with an infant, under 20 lbs, the plastic base is cracked and broken. contacted britax who will only repair damage once car seat is sent to them in n.c. britax will not accommodate consumers who do not have another seat for their child in the meantime. britax states it is the consumers responsibility to obtain another seat, even though their product is defective. britax customer service management also stated the broken base will not affect the safety of the seat. i am trying to get that in writing from britax. however management could not say at what point the seat would be unsafe if the base continues to break. *ak i feel since the seat is still under the 1 year warranty britax should replace a broken car seat, not repair. also not inconvenience the consumer making it their problem to buy another seat in the meantime when you have already paid top dollar for the britax in the first place. britax is knowingly condoning the use of a broken car seat to their customers. *ak
