Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Car jerking so that i took to reliable mechanic. he drove car and said the transmission is slipping. the mechanic said the transmission fluid smelled a little burned consistent with slipping of the transmission. the mechanic's recommendation was to wait until transmission completely failed since he thought the only option was to have transmission replaced. this 1995 mercury grand marquis has only 34,000 miles on it. i had heard recently that many of the mercury's and ford's had early transmission failure. *ak
