Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: 1) my "check engine light" comes on continually. i have had it in three times and have been told it's my gas cap or a loose hose. this is not true, as it came on the 2 and 3rd time, after "repairs" had been done, and i had not refueled the car or driven in poor conditions. each time the light comes on after i have driven about 75 miles. 2) the lights on the instrument panel randomly fade in and out. 3) after getting the oil changed on 5/24/04, i was down a quart of oil by 6/3/2004. 4)the engine runs very hot and stumbles when i accelerate after stopping. when i called the service center at the dealer to express concern over this, i was told i need to change my oil. i reminded them i had just changed my oil, but i then expressed my concern about engine seizure, which i have learned is not uncommon in this vehicle. i asked what could be done to prevent this. i was told that this doesn't happen to people who change their oil. what happens if the engine does seize, even though i've had regular oil changes? how can i be proactive when the service centers deny the problem even exists? *ak
