Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I bought a jeep cherokee new in 1994. i firmly believe in the use of safety belts and have always used them. i have replaced the the locking part of the belt three times since i have owned my jeep. irealize my vehicle is older but i dont think these buckles should keep failing. i am now looking to replace it again as it has failed again!!!!!! to replace it new is $150 and up. i have talked to several used parts dealers and they told me as fast as they get some in they are sold. i personally don't feel these buckles are safe at all. if they fail under normal use how well will they hold up under the stress of a crash situation?? i will not drive without a safety belt but i don't think i should have to keep spending money to replace a device that is supposed to protect you but keeps failing. *ak |
