| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I was driving down the road when the engine light came on. the blazer began shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear very hard. i experienced loss of power and had to shut the vehicle off in the middle of an intersection. a diagnostics test showed a p1870 code. i have had the problem checked by a mechanic, who states that my torque convertor and the clutches will need to be replaced, as well as a switch, to the cost of $2000. after reading numerous other complaints similar or identical in nature, i wonder if perhaps it is a manufacturer defect or design problem? one of the mecahnics i spoke with said that chevrolet blazers are notorious for this problem.*ak |
