Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: While driving 5 mph, the front coil spring was cut into the tire and caused a tire blowout. the consumer managed to pull over and had the vehicle towed. *ak recall# 98i002000. the consumer's son was driving when the incident occurred and assumed that the tire was the problem until the other side blew out. the service dealer found that the front coil springs had broken and had cut into the tires. later, a trusted mechanic of the consumer's found that the spring catcher bracket that was installed by ford had failed to prevent the broken spring from puncturing the tire. (the stop gag measure did not work properly to rectify the defective coils) *sc *jb |
