| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I own a 2001 international flat bed tow truck, also referred to as a roll back or car carrier.i have had one incident with the the"l"arm bracket that retains the "l"arm for the wheel lift coming off my truck and another incident where the complete hydraulic control panel assembly that goes from one side of the truck to the opposite side, falling down.the equipment was installed by chevron carriers and wreckers, located at 7320 w.market st,mercer,pa,16137.their phone number is 724-981-7500 or 800-886-6400.i contacted chevron and notified them of the problem with the hydraulic control panel and asked for reimbursement for the repair to which i was refused.i deem these to be safety issues.both problems were caused by the lack of lock washers or spacer washers being installed under the heads of the bolts causing the bolts to loosen up on the " l" arm and the bolts that hold the hydraulic panel in place wore thru the plate underneath causing the bolts to fall through the elongated holes and falling down.it appears at this time that chevron has brushed off my verbal complaints to them.the serial number for reference to chevron for the tow equipment package is 10164820.i was advised by chevron that the vehicle had a one year warranty on it and that they waould not be responsible for the repairs/reimbursement..to which i advised them that it was a manufacturers defect that caused both problems. thank you for your time in considering this matter. walter leuci ptl enterprise ptl towing. *ak |
