| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Re: nhtsa id 04v060000. my 2000 corvette steering column locked up and would not release while in my driveway. this failure is supposed to initiate a fuel shutoff to prevent vehicle movement. however, i was able to move the vehicle and drive it up a tow truck ramp for transportation to a gm dealer. fortunately, the front wheels were straight when the column locked up. the problem i have with this situation is that my vin is not listed in the current recall campaign for this type of failure. i was required to pay for the repairs which involved the replacement of the column lock switch.*ak |
