Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: In december 2003 we purchased our 2000 issues rodeo ls with 55,987 miles. we followed the recommended guidelines for purchasing a used automobile. taking every measure to insure that we were purchasing a vehicle that would perform well for us. we had a diagnostic test, also known as a used vehicle inspection, performed at our local isuzu dealer. the vehicle passed. we then ran a car fax history report, everything checked out there as well. the vehicle then passed a smog check with flying colors. four thousand miles went by and we performed a routine oil change. in another four thousand miles we had complete engine failure! there was no indication of service needed, no oil leaks, no red lights on the dash board, nothing! just a slight ticking noise and twenty miles later extreme engine failure, diagnosed as a "major oil leak, a blown engine" due to a "definite internal problem". so, i have a properly maintained and documented isuzu, that i only drove for 9,000 miles, just outside of the second owner warranty of 60,000 miles. this vehicle is sitting in my front yard with the defective engine still in it. i'm demanding isuzu assist in a "gesture of goodwill" by replacing this defective engine in my isuzu with a new factory engine. if isuzu does not take advantage of my request i will demand my rights under the california lemon law that they buy this unsafe lemon back from me. i have done extensive research (this research also explained the occasional stalling we experienced) on isuzus and have confirmed a history of countless defects with these cars. this information can be verified on the nhtsa and the cas web sites. i urge anyone else encountering problems with their isuzus to document and follow through with your concerns through the appropriate channels .... nhtsa and cas. take advantage of the lemon law and demand your rights!!! *la
