Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: The brake pedal had became hard and wouldn't go down when depressed. the consumer coasted the vehicle into the driveway and engaged the parking brake to stop. the vehicle was towed to the dealer, and the mechanic performed a diagnostic test that indicated that the hydraulic brake pump motor assembly malfunctioned. also, there was recall 96v099000 concerning anti skid brake system. however, the dealership indicated that this recall had already been performed. the remedy failed, and the manufacturer was not honoring the warranty as stated in the recall, and were not sending the recall part to the dealership because the dealership was unable to get a diagnostic test code indicating that the recall part failed, although the dealership duplicated the problem , and indicated that the recall part was causing the problem. *ak (the second consumer: tara beth) *sc *jb
